I cannot say enough good things about the amazing time that we had on Flying Circus this summer. It was a 2 day and 1 night memory-filled adventure. The first day, my son and his fiancé, both non-kayakers, spent the day sailing with Mike and his crew, while my husband and his friend, both experienced, adventurous kayakers and myself, (a not so adventurous kayaker) paddled around Casco Bay. Mike assured me that he could pick me up in Flying Circus at any point, if I got tired or conditions exceeded my comfort level. So with a radio, map and a tentative route, we started out. Mike checked in periodically to see how we were doing and we made arrangements to meet him at Little Chebeague where the boat was moored for the night. We arrived back at the boat, rinsed the salt water off and were then treated to a delicious variety of hors d’oeuvres, scallops and salmon dinner all prepared fresh on the boat. We spent the night in very comfortable berths and after a breakfast of fresh coffee, bacon and blueberry pancakes, we had the option of kayaking or sailing back. We choose to relax and sail back. It was a perfect end to a wonderful weekend. We cannot wait to go back next summer and choose a different part of Casco Bay to explore!
